GUARANTEE!!! GUARANTEE!!!
GUARANTEE, GUARANTEE!!! These were the words echoing throughout Gillette stadium tonight as the Steeler’s Anthony Smith held his head in his hands on the sidelines probably regretting this phrase that will echo in the hearts of many merry Patriots fans for some time..
Well Mr. Smith, I’m about to guarantee you that the city of Boston will be watching three consecutive pro title parades this year, and this isn't an empty threat such as yours! With the Celtics beating the Bulls, the Bruins thrashing Toronto, and the Patriots surpassing the Steelers, this weekend was a spectacle to be seen by all New England Sports Fans.
Along with these New England sports events, was the boxing match between Maywheather and Hatton. These two undefeated fighters met up Saturday night for a battle that had the hearts of many patriots such as myself ready to burst. Tyrese (yea that’s correct...Tyrese...) sang the American national anthem to the beat of...well thousands of drunk Englishmen’s boos. That’s right folks, they came into our country, to fight our undfeated boxer (who mind you kept perfectly silent during the rendition of “God Save the Queen”), and booed our national anthem! Bah! The fight looked grim and Maywheather was taking a a beating up tight against his body. The scrappy fighter Hatton was hitting fast with little punches. It appeared Maywheather had met his match until those watching closely noticed that every time Hatton was at a distance of about 2 feet he was getting rocked from single punches of Floyd’s arsenal. It wasn’t until the tenth round that the Hatton’s fans in their “Hatton Wonderland” (which is what they call Hatton’s dominance in the ring) watched their man truly enter his own little knocked out wonderland.
So to all you Englishmen out there with the gall to come here and boo our national anthem, I hope you truly enjoyed your plane ride home...hatin’ Hatton.
